Webinar series on groundwater governance

As part of the “Climate Resilience through Regional Cooperation for Inclusive Sustainable Development” project’s activities on “Institutionalizing the Arab Groundwater Knowledge Platform”, ESCWA is launching a webinar series on groundwater governance to address identified key priority topics through national case studies and experience sharing.

Each webinar includes presentations by participants sharing country-level experiences, followed by an interactive discussion to foster knowledge exchange. The webinars bring together water professionals, including members from the ESCWA Network of National Arab Groundwater Focal Points, and members from the Arab Integrated Water Resources Management Network (AWARENET).

Webinar 1 (5 March 2025): The first webinar focuses on Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR), highlighting case studies from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Webinar 2 (25 March 2025): The second webinar focuses on the use of groundwater modeling to support policymaking, highlighting case studies from Bahrain and Morocco.
